Our Story
Leigh and Jeff's story began almost 13 years ago. A mutual friend introduced them in a restaurant where Jeff was working. They had instant natural chemistry which led Leigh to visit the restaurant regularly and Jeff to get up in front of hundreds of people showing off his legs to raise money for drug and alcohol abuse.
Jeff was enamored with Leigh and her passions. In her non-profit work, Leigh supported countless people in need, including those who were looking to grow their family through adoption.
The Director family practices what they preach. Leigh and Jeff grew their family by adopting their five children. Every child in this world deserves a family that loves them unconditionally and the Directors do just that.
The true miracle of this story is Leigh's unwavering commitment to the cause. Leigh suffered from Cystic Fibrosis and was blessed with an organ donation at the age of 14. Leigh knew that every day was a blessing and chose to dedicate her life to helping others.
Sadly, Leigh passed away on January 11th, 2025. Her last request to her beloved husband Jeff was that he carry on this sacred work. The Director Family Foundation is Jeff's way of fulfilling her request.
Our Mission
Life is a blessing and every individual is created in the image of God. Our mission is to uphold the sanctity of life. We are here to support those who may be pregnant and looking for options, as well as those who are looking to bless their family by choosing adoption.
Adoption can be a difficult, intimidating, and expensive process. Our hope is to provide knowledge, experience, and financial support to help create healthy families.
We will direct our resources to the causes about which Leigh cared most. This includes organ donation, early childhood education, and supporting the greater New Orleans community.

Jeff & Leigh's Work
Leigh Whitman Director was honored, in memory, as the Bridge House 2025 Volunteer of the Year.
Jeff has supported multiple charities, including the Mr. Legs Contest to raise money for drugs and alcohol recovery. Take a look at a couple of examples of Jeff's spirit and love for the cause over the course of 10+ years... 2014 (Warriors) and 2017 (Elsa).
